Reaching out for support can take courage but you do not have to manage alone.

There are organisations and services throughout Aotearoa New Zealand that can provide:

• information
• support
• advocacy
• and practical assistance.

The right support can help you understand your options and connect you with people who understand your situation. 

Everyone's circumstances are different. It may take time to find the service that best meets your needs. Some organisations provide immediate help. Other organisations offer ongoing support, advocacy, counselling, cultural support, or referrals to specialist services. If one service is unable to help, they may be able to connect you with another one.

The Family Services Directory is a searchable online database. It helps individuals, families and whānau find services and supports throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

You can use the directory to: 

• search for organisations that provide support in your area
• find services that match your needs and circumstances
• identify local, regional, and national support options
• connect with providers that may be able to support you, your family or whānau. 

Providers may offer information, advice and advocacy. They may also offer practical assistance, specialist support, or referrals to other services where appropriate.
